Re-published from creativemuseum.lv, Dina Auzina's 2019 spotlight on the work of Latvian Museums. Part 2:
In a methodical sense, one of the most important resources for ensuring the availability of the stock is the internal management systems of museums and online databases, including the National Museums Collection (NMKK), the addition of which, in accordance with the Cabinet regulations, is the responsibility of each accredited museum. THE Centre for Cultural Information Systems (KISC) shows that 2019 has been highly productive – the co-catalog has been supplemented with information on 144 547 items, well above previous year results (2018-102 090; 2017-122 787; 2016-78 512; 2015-75 723). In general, information on objects of the national museum collections of 1 357 495 is currently entered in the co-catalogue, which, in quantitative terms, significantly increases the potential of this database for its users.
